A child’s safety is an adult’s job. We make sure our children wear seat belts. We walk them across busy streets. It’s adults’ responsibility to also protect children from child sexual abuse.
The training program is appropriate not only to systems that serve children directly, but also to individuals and businesses that want to respond to the epidemic nature of the problem and its impact at all levels of society. Our community trainings are held monthly at KIDS Center; but we also offer private trainings for businesses, parent groups, etc. We can also provide a Spanish version of Darkness to Light "Stewards of Children".

Through the Central Oregon Darkness to Light Initiative, 43 trained facilitators are available to conduct 3-hour Darkness to Light "Stewards of Children" trainings in Crook, Deschutes, and Jefferson counties and Warm Springs Reservation.
As of July 2010, over over 5,000 adults in Central Oregon have been trained to better protect our community's children. Become part of the movement!
