Welcome to the KIDS Center
The KIDS Center serves approximately 600 children annually who need evaluation and treatment for sexual abuse, physical and emotional abuse, and neglect. We offer two main services: medical evaluations and counseling. Other services include coordinating the annual Blue Ribbon Campaign in April, coordinating the Deschutes County Multi-Disciplinary Team, and consulting/training for other counties in Central and Eastern Oregon.
Darkness to Light Training
A child’s safety is an adult’s job. We make sure our children wear seat belts. We walk them across busy streets. It’s adults’ responsibility to also protect children from child sexual abuse.
KIDS Center , in conjunction with a coalition of tri-county partners, is spearheading a revolutionary sexual abuse prevention training and outreach program in Central Oregon. This national research-based program, developed by the organization Darkness to Light, educates adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. AmeriCorps Community Educator
KIDS Center, the children’s advocacy center for Central Oregon, is looking for a person who is motivated to give back to the community, connect with local agencies and wants to be part of the KIDS Center Prevention and Education Program team working to protect children.
Join us a member of the statewide AmeriCorps "Healthy Options Through Prevention and Education" (HOPE) program. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in community service who is looking for ways to connect with youth agencies, schools and non-profit and government agencies.
Executive Director
Summary: Responsible for the oversight or direct supervision of all aspects of the operations of the KIDS Center, including but not limited to organizational development, direction, coordination and evaluation of programs; fiscal accountability; fundraising capability. Through the authority of the Board of Directors, formulates and administers organizational policies, procedures and protocols by performing the below listed duties personally or through subordinate managers or staff.
