Who We Serve
We help Central Oregon children and families impacted by child abuse.
KIDS Center provides child abuse evaluations for children ages birth to 18, and older where cognitive delays are present. We primarily serve children from Deschutes, Crook, Jefferson, Harney, Sherman, and Wheeler counties.
We provide evaluations to children who have disclosed abuse or where there is a strong concern abuse has occurred. Children may be referred for any form of abuse including, but not limited to sexual, physical, emotional abuse, neglect, witness to violence, and drug endangerment. An evaluation is not required to receive advocacy or mental health services.
No person is excluded from agency services on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy, status as a parent, national origin, age, disability (physical or mental), family medical history or genetic information, political affiliation, military service, or other discriminatory reason.
KIDS Center is dedicated to improving the lives of all children in our region. Racism, injustice, and intolerance have no place here. We stand with all marginalized individuals and stand against all forms of injustice. We pledge to continue making an unwavering effort to further support diversity, equity, and inclusion. We join with our community to take action by creating an environment in which everyone feels valued and respected.
Community Collaboration to Keep Kids Safe
KIDS Center works with a network of community partners to provide services and support to victims of child abuse. The goal of the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) is to bring together agencies to work collaboratively on the issue of child abuse in an effort to protect and best serve the needs of child victims and their families. As a leader on the team, KIDS Center works to make sure no child falls through the cracks and that comprehensive and equitable services are provided. KIDS Center also coordinates and leads specialized training for MDT members to enhance and improve skills.
